Acne Keloidalis Nuchae, Question by John First Name S: My dermatologist says my neck acne is not keloidalis nuchae (folliculitis) - that it is all acne vulgaris? Acne Keloidalis Nuchae

I don't believe him. First one said it's rosacea...that was a year ago and like $ 200 worth of medications (even with my insurance paying for most of it - $ 200 was my copay!)...I stopped that right away...I know my neck acne has to be folliculitis, it is big nodules and small little bumps that I pick at constantly and form scabs and dry up, then I pick them again and they bleed...they're not pus-filled... any ideas? This money-monger new schmuck won't admit it's folliculitis - lemme email u a pic of it please someone... I just want to know!

Acne Keloidalis Nuchae รข€" Visit www.dermhairclinic.com for more information. Acne keloidalis nuchae, or AKN, is a type of chronic folliculitis that manifests in large and often painful lesions on the occipital scalp and back of the neck. The condition, not to be confused with acne vulgaris, begins with papules and pustules in the hair follicle, which grow to inflamed keloidlike tissue. This tissue adversely affects normal hair growth in the distressed area. The condition, also seen as a cause of cicatricial alopecia, is most common among young men of African decent, but may also affect Asians and Hispanics. The patient in this video suffered with AKN for about six years. He had tried a six-month run of oral medications to abate the problem and saw no change. Five m onths after Dr. Umar surgically excised the patient's AKN mass, there is no trace of the condition, and only minimal scarring. The patient is extremely pleased with his results.
