Acne On Chin, Question by : What would a dermatologist recommend for acne on my chin that breaks out 2 weeks after my period? Acne On Chin

I'm convinced my acne is hormonal because the only place i get it is on my chin, everywhere else is clear. It mostly pops up 2 weeks after the start of my period. It's clear a little before, during, and after my period. Topicals haven't made much of a difference except to keep them at bay. Anybody who has experienced chin acne who has a dermatologist prescribe them something, has it worked? what is it? Is birth control a good option?

Acne on Chin Treatment

Acne on chin is a fairly common condition. It can happen to adults or teenagers and sometimes acne may only appear on the chin area. Acne is caused by pores that are clogged by oil or dirt which may cause bacteria growth. This bacteria growth will cause inflammation and acne will appear. Acne can be severe when one is in the puberty stages as excess oil will be produced and this will increase the chances of having your pores clogged.

Even though acne can form at almost any area of our face, some people tend to suffer from acne only at the chin area. In order to cure your acne, you will need to find out what is causing the acne to grow only on your chin. Some common reasons are the usage of masks or the bad habit of touching the chin frequently.

If you use masks, you increase the possibility of skin irritation and it also traps your perspiration.

This will cause bacteria to grow and may lead to acne. Our hands contain germs and bacteria from the places that we had touched. This means that touching your chin frequently with your hands will transfer the dirt and bacteria to your chin area which will cause acne to appear.

Try to avoid wearing mask or keep your mask clean. Avoid touching your chin frequently will also help to prevent your acne condition from worsening. You should also remember to sleep early, stick to a healthy diet and keep yourself well hydrated so that your body can function in its optimal condition.
