Should I bother going to my doctor just yet? (TTC)?

I'm 24 and I've been on depo since I was in my first year of college (18 or 19). Now that I'm married and want a family, I've stopped taking it. My last shot was in December of 2007. Before going on depo I had a lot of problems with my period. It was really irregular (went 7 mos without when I was 15, and was on average 2-3 months in between). When I started taking oral birth control, this problem fixed itself and I didn't really think of it until this past year. Since going off depo provera a year ago, I have had two periods, and maybe three times had an almost inconsequential amount of spotting. I've also noticed since going off birth control that the hair on my body is darker than it used to be, that I've got pretty bad acne like I was 14 again, and I am having a REALLY hard time losing any weight, even in small amounts (I was pretty up-and-down before but at least I could get the scale to move). I thought that it was PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome - look it up on Wikipedia), and my doctor sent me for an ultra sound last summer but it came back negative. I've had blood tests done as well that came back PERFECTLY healthy. I should be happy to have the blood work of someone 50 lbs lighter than me, but it doesn't exactly help me out. My doctor's only advice was to "relax and have fun!" ... great, really helpful, doc. He also told me he didn't want to see me about this until the New Year. Now that it is the new year I feel like he's just going to tell me the same non-answers as before and still not give me a referral to a specialist (in my area you can't just walk into an ob/gyn, your GP has to refer) and just make me feel like a hypochondriac. Is it worth the effort? Should I wait and hope my body rights itself on it's own?Cystic Acne Wikipedia, Best answer:

Well, honestly, your doctor should have sent you long ago to an ObGyn to help regulate your cycle without birth control. I would consider switching my doctor honey. You may not be ovulating which of course means you can't get pregnant. The ObGyn can put you on something to help you start ovulating as well as regulate your cycle. I don't understand why you can't just see a gynecologist. Every woman over 18 is supposed to see one. So I'd try talking to your doctor one last time and if he/she doesn't refer you then I would take my business elsewhere. Good luck!!

its all the worth going to see the doctor. Even though if he is going to tell you the same thing, it will benefit you more that you are still in good shape. If you do want to see a specialist, demand to. Its patients rights they can not refuse. Always be up-to-date with your body. Hope all works out.

Hey s ounds likes like your having a bit of confusing time! Based on the symptoms you describe I would think you have PCOS but although your doctors states this is not the case I would be edgey about that. Like you before I went on the pill my periods were all over the place and were only regulated once on the pill. I came of the pill in August of 2008 and never got a period until december 2008 but it was very light!!! I went my doctors though cause was still concerned and although I don't have many symptoms of PCOS after 1 blood test with everything coming back as normal might 2nd showed that I had PCOS and I have no darker hair really but my periods are over the place and I have developed a really spotty back, my weight at the moment doesn't seem to be a problem. I would go back to your doctor again and say because your wanting to conceive you want advice or something that can help your ovulate. Losing weight and getting a good diet and trying not stress is the best way the y say to fall pregnant and is better for your health but it is so hard to do!!! I am currently trying to fall pregnant naturally but on the waiting list to see my gynae!! Like you turned 25 and got married now I want a family its hard!! I am trying to go with the approach that I am going stay positive and live life normally but at the same time I am going to make a conscious effort to TTC. Baby dust on you!!

Cystic Acne Wikipedia รข" Skin Classic high frequency for treating acne cysts. Our f12 probe barely touched the skin. Sebum is attracted to the high frequency and comes through the pore. The probe is then inserted into the pore not the skin and stretched so that any material coming up through the pore will have a path of least resistance. This reduced scarring. Cystic Acne Wikipedia
