"Bacne" scarring? I want to go to prom and not be embarrassed in my strapless dress?
Accutane Acne Treatment 2008, Question by Alice: "Bacne" scarring? I want to go to prom and not be embarrassed in my strapless dress? Accutane Acne Treatment 2008
I have I would say moderate scarring from acne on my back. They are not raised, or pits. They are simply discolored marks. Very ugly, and in my opinion look worse than the initial acne itself. I didn't realize that it was just scarring until several months ago. I don't think I made that clear to my dermatologist when she prescribed me benzoyl peroxide wash for my back. Will this help the hyperpigmentation at all? I can't tell you how many medications I've been on, how much I've tried. It seems so hopeless, like nothing is working for me. I started seeing a dermatologist when I was about 12 1/2 I believe. The first thing I tried was doxycycline and azelaic acid for topical use. It cleared up my skin for a while, and then I developed an immunity to it late 2008, went back, and was prescribed minocycline instead. Also, Retin A. The minocycline and Retin A have done wonders for my face. I am also on birth control to clear up my skin, and if the birth control doesn't stop my break outs completely I'm going to go for Accutane. I am so frustrated with my back. Everyone tells me I'm a beautiful girl, I have a nice figure, and I want so badly to be able to go to the pool this summer, and wear backless sundresses and not feel disgusting. I don't even like my own boyfriend giving me back rubs, I am so self concious =/. I am not willing to tan. I know that some people tan as a quick fix for hyperpigmented bacne spots, but that is not an option for me. I have fair skin and I like it so no tanning, or spray tans. Chemical peels, laser treatments, microdermabrasion? Would those be an option for my condition? What will treat my small brown scars :(. Money is not really an issue. I am 16, but my mom is very sympathetic to my situation and would be willing to consent to a laser or microdermabrasion. Also, fork out the cash. But I don't want anything too invasive, it doesn't seem necessary. I also hear vinegar is effective for hyperpigmentation due to acne. Anyone have any suggestions? I really do need help with this. I bought a beautiful strapless dress for prom, and I want to be confident with an updo. I didn't ask for details about Accutane, I asked for treatment methods. I already told you where I am in regards to Accutane, did you read my entire question? I don't mean to snap, but this is frustrating for me, I know the question was long, but I'm trying to give as much detail as possible so someone can give me specific treatment options. I know alllll about Accutane, trust me.Accutane Acne Treatment 2008, Best answer:

okay well my answer probably won't help you too much, but it helps me when I'm self consious. just don't mind them, pretend the scars aren't there. you only have one life to live, and when you get older, you will REALLY regret caring so much about some little scars on your back. people have much, much worse problems. if you still really care, I advise just using concealer for a quick fix. also I heard the lotion from proactiv helps fade scars. at drugstores, you can get scar-fading serum for a good price. I guess if you will spend lots of money, there is probably so e sort of laser treatment for scars. I hope I helped!

Try bio oil. I had acne on my back too really bad, but it went away by itself and now there's nothing there. I ended up not going to my prom because of this problem. Anyways I heard some really good reviews on bio oil, and it won't cause your skin to break out. One tip I can give you from personal experience is to exfoliate. Your back in different from your face so you can be a little tougher, and exfoliating helps the process along.
