Both products are from Clean&Clear. The Acne Cleanser has 10% Benzoyl Peroxide and the Astringent has 2.0% Salicylic Acid. I want to know is it safe to use both products at the same time morning and night with daily use?Acne Astringent, Best answer:

It is safe but read the following from a subject matter expert. "When you scrub your face, you're taking off some of the protective oils and barriers, which tends to lead to rashes and even burns," says Sandy Johnson, MD, a board-certified dermatologist with Johnson Dermatology Group in Fort Smith, Ark. Instead, she says, use a gentle cleanser followed by a moisturizer or sunscreen. Skin Care Myth No. 5: It's better to get the pus out of a pimple by popping it. "The truth is, even though it feels really good to release [the pus], a lot of it just goes in deeper," says Johnson. "When it goes in deeper, it causes more inflammation that can lead to scarring and spread under the skin. That's why you'll get another one a few days later, close to the first one." Johnson says it's crucial that people stop picking at their faces. But if you absolutely cannot resist, she says, be sure and do it right. Don't squeeze and pop the inflammation. Instead, use something called a comedone extractor -- an inexpensive tool that can be purchased at most beauty supply stores. Apply firm pressure with the extractor, then roll across the pimple to take it out. Skin Care Myth No. 6: Facials and microdermabrasion are good for your skin care routine. This is a popular myth, says Bauman, especially with the proliferation of day spas. But a recent study from India concluded that facials actually cause acne breakouts in 80% of people, Bauman tells WebMD. "They feel good but have no long-term skin benefit beyond relaxation," she says. "Like microdermabrasion, which merely sloughs off the top layer of skin, they are a "complete and total waste of money."

Acne occurs when skin pores become clogged. The sebaceous glands secrete an oily substance known as sebum, which natural generates to keep the skin from drying out. Certain areas of the body have an abundance of sebaceous glands, which are more prone to acne. For many people, the sebaceous glands produce an excess of sebum, which, if unchecked, can clog the pores, trapping dead skin cells and bacteria. When these cells become clogged they often become inflamed, which is the initial stage of acne. There are many different types of acne treatments for clogged pores, the most basic being soap and water. One such pore cleanser, astringent, is the topic of much debate regarding its effect on acne.
Astringents are usually alcohol based. They are useful in controlling surface oils and lowering the skin's pH. They should only be used after washing the affected areas thoroughly. Astringents also shrink the mucus membranes of the skin, which can minimize the effects of in flammation. On the other hand, astringents are used to firm and tone the skin, constricting the pores. Some argue that by creating a protective layer of firm tissue between the under layers of skin, astringents have preventative capabilities. Others will argue that by constricting the pores, astringents enable selling by trapping dirt and oil inside the pores.
Regardless of how effective astringents are as an acne treatment, it is wildly held that people should refrain from using a harsh astringent on affected areas of the skin. Only a mild astringent is necessary for acne treatment. Harsh astringents can cause excess drying, causing the sebaceous glands to work overtime, thereby merely worsening the initial cause. It is also recommended that those who use astringents also use a skin moisturizer to ensure that the skin does not become too dry.
